Dave Coulier talks 'Full House' getting canceled 20 years ago, admits he was 'really sad' about it (Video)

Dave Coulier is admitting in a new interview for Oprah: Where Are They Now that when Full House ended in 1995, he wasn’t ready for it to be over.

He called the cast, which includes Bob Saget, John Stamos, Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin and twins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, like a “dysfunctional family” off-camera and said he wanted to go a couple of more seasons.

"I could have gone a couple of other seasons," he explained, Huffington Post reports. "And there was talk about that, of going to another network that wanted to pick us up for two more seasons."

He continued that instead, "Everybody just kind of disbanded,” adding, "I was sad because I thought, 'Here are some of my closest friends on the planet, and we've been together almost nine years. This is all going to stop,’ I was really sad about that."

It’s been 20 years and the show will live on for another day with Netflix’s Fuller House, which Coulier has signed on for. Almost everyone will return, except for the Olsen twins.

The show centers on a widowed DJ (Bure), who gets help from Stephanie (Sweetin) and Kimmy (Barber) to raise her three children.
