Gwyneth Paltrow says she’s ‘very lucky’ to have ex Chris Martin as her children’s father

When Gwyneth Paltrow isn’t trying to teach us how to yawn, the Oscar winner also speaks at conferences. During her latest speech on Friday, Paltrow was very open about her personal life and current relationship with her ex-husband, Coldplay singer Chris Martin.

Paltrow spoke at the #BlogHer15 conference in New York. There, she talked about how important Martin has remained in their children’s lives. As People notes, she said she made sure her children - Apple, 11, and Moses, 9 - knew that both their parents still love them, no matter what the press says.

“You know Daddy and I are famous and there's going to be a lot of stuff out there,” she recalled telling them. “I can't control what you'll see. But you know what's real and how much we love you.”

Paltrow said that she obviously avoids the tabloids. She then explained that Martin is still there for their kids and has made them a priority.

“I'm very, very lucky that I have a partner who's willing to do it with me in a really collaborative way. I'm really for Chris and he's really for me and our children are our priority,” she said. “What that really means is: Even if you hate me and never want to see me again, we are going to brunch.”

Things aren’t perfect, but she’s still “great friends” with Martin, who is a “great dad.”

Martin and Paltrow’s divorce became official in April, a year after Paltrow’s famous “conscious uncoupling” blog post. In her most recent post, she told everyone that we have been yawning incorrectly all our lives.
