Marcus Mariota finally signs with Tennessee Titans

Heisman Trophy winning quarterback Marcus Mariota signed with the Tennessee Titans on Tuesday.

According to Fox Sports, the deal is for four years and is worth $24.2 million. There is a signing bonus that’s worth $15.9 million. The deal also include a fifth-year team option. Mariota was the last first-round pick from this year’s draft to sign a deal.

"Thank you to the Tennessee Titans organization as well as my agent for making a dream come true," Mariota said in a statement. "I am very grateful and honored to have this opportunity. I look forward to the future with my teammates, and I'm truly excited to be part of this team."

Mariota was the second overall pick in this year’s draft. He left Oregon after his redshirt junior year. Last year he threw for 4,454 yards and 42 touchdowns, rushed for 770 yards and 15 scores, and was intercepted four times, according to the Associated Press. He led all quarterbacks with a 90.9 rating.

Mariota is expected to start immediately and could be the Titans starting quarterback. The Titans went 2-14 last year with three quarterbacks. Cornerback D’Joun Smith and defensive end Henry Anderson of the Indianapolis Colts are the only picks from this year’s draft who are still unsigned.
