New ‘Sherlock’ photo has Benedict Cumberbatch at his most dashing

Time to squeal Cumberbitches, because there’s a new photo of Benedict Cumberbatch in his full Sherlock outfit. Just because he’s now an Oscar-nominated actor doesn’t mean that Cumberbatch is going to leave the series that made him a superstar.

The BBC posted a photo on Facebook this morning. “Shut up everybody, shut up! Don't move, don't speak, don't breathe. A new #Sherlock Special image has landed,” the network wrote.

The photo shows Sherlock Holmes (Cumberbatch) sitting, with Dr. Watson (Martin Freeman) leaning on the chair. Although the show is set in modern London, the characters appear to be wearing Victorian garb. The two were also seen in Victorian hats in the November 2014 photo.

Cumberbatch and Freeman are returning for a 2015 Christmas Sherlock special and a fourth series. In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, showrunner Steven Moffat promised that the new season will be emotional and “bloody frightening.”

It’s still surprising that Cumberbatch and Freeman found time to make a special and season of Sherlock. Cumberbatch is now an in-demand actor following his Oscar-nominated turn in The Imitation Game and Freeman just starred in FX’s Fargo and the Hobbit movies. Cumberbatch and Freeman have both won Emmys for their performances in Sherlock.

Shut up everybody, shut up! Don't move, don't speak, don't breathe. A new #Sherlock Special image has landed...
