Jennifer Aniston plays 'therapist from hell' in new film

Jennifer Aniston is the exact opposite of we are looking for in a therapist in this new clip from her upcoming film She’s Funny That Way.

In the film Aniston portrays an impatient and unsupportive counselor. In an interview with People, the film’s director, Peter Bogdanovich, described Aniston’s character as, “a therapist from hell.” In the interview Bogdanovich had nothing but kind words for Aniston and her performance in the movie. “She is very funny because you know she’s not like that at all and she is kind of outrageous. I think people will be surprised by what an unusuale role it is for her,” he said.

The clip shows Aniston’s character, Jane, arguing with her boyfriend Joshua, who is played by Will Forte. “It’s like it’s Father’s Day with you everyday. I mean the guy calls you all the time. It’s a little weird. Honestly, I’m getting fed up with it. In fact, I am fed up with it. I’m out of here,” Aniston’s character says frustrated.

According to the film’s Facebook page She’s Funny That Way “is a screwball comedy featuring the interconnected personal lives of the cast and crew of a Broadway production.” The film stars Owen Wilson, Imogen Poots, Kathryn Hahn, and Rhys Ifans, as well as Forte and Aniston.

Aniston isn’t the only Friends costar to go on to play a less than satisfactory therapist. Lisa Kudrow is currently starring in the Showtime series, Web Therapy, in which she portrays Fiona Wallace an impatient, self-absorbed therapist.

You can see She’s Funny That Way in a theater near you on August 21.
