Jessa Duggar says she doesn't think child sex abuse should be a 'taboo subject' on 'Breaking the Silence'

Jill and Jessa Duggar spoke out about child sex abuse along with many other victims of abuse on the TLC documentary Breaking the Silence on Sunday, which was inspired by their brother, Josh Duggar, admitting to sexually molesting them as children.

The documentary was headed by the sexual abuse prevention organization, Darkness to Light, and it featured a training seminar for families.

Their mother, Michelle Duggar, also participated in the hour-long documentary.

“I feel like this should be a discussion people are having, even regularly,” Jessa, 22, who is currently expecting her first child, said. “I think that it shouldn't be a taboo subject, that we should be bringing awareness to child sexual abuse and talking about this,” People reports.

Jill, 24, also said, “It's amazing to understand that there are so many people that deal with this exact same thing in their own families. So just being educated is very good."

As for Michelle, she said she was “so glad” her daughters participated in the documentary in order to help other families who find themselves in the same position as they did.

Jill and Jessa spoke out about the abuse at the hands of their older brother on The Kelly File in June, defending him against those who called him a child molester.
