Must Watch Videos–Hailee Steinfeld, Luke Bryan, Of Monsters and Men–August 10, 2015

The weekend is over and everyone is in full recovery mode. Its now back to the reality of work and school but while you are going through the weekly routine, why not check out the most popular, unique and fun music videos featured on YouTube. From country to pop this countdown has it covered. We have organized the top ten music videos to watch this week so you don’t have to.

This week features a wide range of music videos from up and coming rock ‘n’ roll sessions to another successful Kelly Clarkson cover. Clarkson took on a classic during her Piece by Piece tour. The “Since U Been Gone” singer took on “Purple Rain” by Prince and knocked it out of the park. This countdown also features Pitch Perfect 2 star Hailee Steinfeld who has released her first independent single, “Love Myself.”

The most unique video though this week goes to Matt Nathanson with “Gold In The Summertime.” The video is creative and features a person painted in gold from head to toe. It appears that Nathanson wanted to do something different and more colorful compared to over pop music videos. “Summertime” is a great way to celebrate the final days of the summer season.

10. Coasts-Oceans

Coasts has released a getaway style music video that feels refreshing and contemporary. “Oceans” feels like indie rock and pop coming together in an explosion of modern style. The video itself is shot in a style that makes it feel more like a new movie compared to a music video. Coasts is bringing something different to the industry, they are combining musical genres and bringing in visuals that not only match the lyrical delivery but elevate the overall project to a fresh and original level.

9. Randy Houser-We Went

Up and coming country star Randy Houser has released his next single, “We Went.” Houser is known for his hit songs like “Runnin’ Outta Moonlight” and “How Country Feels” but “We Went” is a heavier hitting more rock driven style.

8. Kelly Clarkson – Purple Rain

Kelly Clarkson is continuing her cover domination with her unique take on “Purple Rain” by Prince. Clarkson changed the classic song slightly and added in her own unique style. She told the audience that she was a little nervous considering how iconic this song is.

7. Hailee Steinfeld-Love Myself

Hailee Steinfeld is known for her role in Pitch Perfect 2 but is out to prove that she is a threat in the music industry. Steinfeld might surprise a few critics with her debut single, “Love Myself.” It’s exceptional. This single is upbeat, thoughtful and has been perfectly arranged to support her vocal range. “Love Myself” has the making of a top 40 hit and is showing off everything that Steinfeld can bring without feeling over produced or modernized.

6. Matt Nathanson-Gold In The Summertime

Matt Nathanson is currently on tour with The Fray and Train but took time out of his schedule to film and release his music video for “Gold In The Summertime.” This is the most unique and fun video on our countdown this week. The video is creative and features a person painted in gold from head to toe and the result is hysterical and entertaining.

5. Of Monsters and Men-Empire

Of Monsters and Men arrived on the scene with their mega hit “Little Talks” and now they are back with a brand new single, “Empire.” The music video for this single features a story that at first might be confusing but after a few times through, it appears that this is about more than just black and white visuals. This video is beautiful put together and the single is instantly memorable.

4. Allen Stone- Love (Top Of The Tower)

Allen Stone is continuing a series that features artists performing on the roof of the Capital Records building in LA. Stone takes the rook and performs “Love.” This series is unique and Stone’s grand musical style matches the beautiful landscape serves as the background in this YouTube video.

3. John Newman-Come And Get It

John Newman first arrived on the scene with “Love Me Again” and instantly set the bar high for himself when it came to a next single. Newman had a bold vocal range and a style that felt like it could cross genres effortlessly. Now Newman is back with a brand new single, “Come and Get It” and this doesn’t disappoint fans that have been waiting for new music.

2. Luke Bryan-Kill The Lights

Luke Bryan is always in the running for being one of the most successful males in country music and is making moves toward the title with his latest album, Kill The Lights. Bryan has released some of the tracks from the album on YouTube including the title track. This feels like a Bryan album, similar musical styles and arranges to that of Crash My Party but it does feel like the energy and rock influences has been turned up a notch or two. “Kill The Lights” has the potential to be the next big single for Bryan.

1. Calvin Harris & Disciples - How Deep Is Your Love

Calvin Harris and Disciples have earned the top spot on our countdown and also have the most star-studded video. “How Deep Is Your Love” features Gigi Hadid. The video puts the focus on Hadid and feels like a fashion show come to life. This isn’t the first time that Hadid has been in front of the camera for a music video, she can also be seen in Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood.”
