Must Watch Videos– Shawn Mendes, U2 and The Weeknd –August 3, 2015

The weekend is over and everyone is entering into recovery mode. Its now back to the reality of work and school but while you are going through the weekly routine, why not check out the most popular, unique and fun music videos featured on YouTube. From country to pop this countdown has it covered. We have organized the top ten music videos to watch this week so you don’t have to.

This week features a wide range of music videos from rock ‘n’ roll legends to unique covers. Shawn Mendes has teamed up with Pitch Perfect 2 star Hailee Steinfeld and the two recorded a duet of Mendes’ current chart topping single, “Stitches.” Kelly Clarkson took on another top 40 hit with her cover of “Wrecking Ball” and Disclosure teamed up with Sam Smith for their latest single, “Omen.”

The most unique video though this week goes to a cover video. 1,000 fans in Cesena, Italy came together to perform their own cover of the Foo Fighters “Learn to Fly.” The goal of this video was to get the band to come to Cesena and performed. Dave Grhol answered their requested on social media and told them that they would be together soon. For those 1,000 fans….Mission accomplished.

10. Disclosure ft. Sam Smith-Omen

Disclosure, Howard and Guy Lawrence, have teamed up with Sam Smith for an electric, stylish and catchy single, “Omen.” Smith’s smooth and soulful vocals match perfectly with Disclosure’s heavy hitting beats and electronic influences. The music video features Smith at an over-the-top, glamorous party that looks like a scene from HBO’s Entourage.

9. Florida Georgia Line-Anything Goes

Florida Georgia Line is continuing their reign as one of the most popular duos in country music today with their latest single, “Anything Goes.” “Goes” is another country pop anthem that features the boy’s signature sound and “bro-country” attitude. Florida Georgia Line has just released a unique lyric video to go along with “Anything Goes.” This isn’t your average lyric video though; it features the boys performing, behind the scenes on tour and many of their dedicated fans.

8. Shawn Mendes ft. Hailee Steinfeld –Stitches (Acoustic)

Shawn Mendes is the current opening act on Taylor Swift’s 1989 world tour and has been climbing the charts with his latest pop anthem “Stitches.” Mendes released the music video for “Stitches” a month ago but has redone the video and single with help from fellow teen star Hailee Steinfeld. The two duet “Stiches” and the result is a completely different take on the chart topping single. Steinfeld adds depth and vocally the two match each other in a way that sounds natural. This remix takes “Stitches” to another level.

7. Masha-Mr. Presley

Masha is a name that will soon be known in the music industry. She has a soulful and at times haunting tone to her vocal range and the result is superlative. Masha has a voice that isn’t heard often, it’s unique in tone and range and feels like something completely original. Her debut single, “Mr. Presley” only highlights all of her talents and is helping to launch her into superstardom.

6. U2 and Bruce Springsteen-I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For

U2 closed out their concert series at Madison Square Garden last night with a special guest. Rock 'n' roll legend Bruce Springsteen joined Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton, and Larry Mullen on stage for two songs.
"The Boss" arrived on stage with an acoustic guitar and performed “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For" followed by a unique cover of "Stand By Me.”

Kelly Clarkson cannot be stopped when it comes to cover songs on her Piece by Piece tour. Each week Clarkson is becoming a YouTube sensation with her unique covers and choices. Her latest cover is of Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball” and Clarkson delivers on every note.

4. Joss Stone-Stuck on You

Joss Stone has returned with her latest single and music video for “Stuck on You.” Stone looks beautiful in the video and it has a unique style. The opening of “Stuck on You” feels like another average music video but once the landscape changes, and goes underwater, the result is an interesting and complex video that is a new style for Stone. The change is refreshing and welcomed.

3. Eminem ft. Gwen Stefani-Kings Never Die

Eminem is the mastermind behind the Southpaw soundtrack and has two singles on the album, the first being “Phenomenal” and the follow up being “Kings Never Die” featuring Gwen Stefani. Even though this singles were created for the film, they feel like original Eminem songs, with his style of fast rhymes and intense beats. “Kings Never Die” is likely to be another Eminem hit and Stefani adds an additional layer of emotion to this song and compliments Eminem in a way that has been brought out before with artists like Rihanna and Pink.

2. The Weeknd-Can’t Feel My Face

The Weeknd is heating up the charts and literally setting their music video for “Can’t Feel My Face” on fire. This song has been climbing the charts and gaining in popularity for the summer months. The music video is not one to miss.

1. Foo Fighters-Learn to Fly (Cover Video)

The Foo Fighters might be one of the coolest bands in rock 'n' roll today and are continuing to hold that title by responding to over 1,000 fans in Cesena, Italy who came together to make a YouTube video that asks the Foo Fighters to come play a concert in their town. The video, which was fan made, already has over 16,000,000 views.
