As we previously reported, Lee’s rep released a statement, saying, “There was a setback [on Tuesday night] due to what may be an infection post-mastectomy. But Sandra is her ever-fighting self."

Her team updated fans on Lee’s Facebook page on Friday, saying she will be able to go home this weekend with “heavy antibiotics and monitoring” but she will possibly need surgery next week.

“The first course of action is to get the infection identified and under control,” they wrote.

The girlfriend of Gov. Andrew Cuomo has “experienced several complications pre and post surgery,” the post also said. “Sandra was hoping to avoid any further operations until her final reconstruction. She has had an incredibly difficult road of it, and in light of everything going on, she had been able to maintain her positive attitude and can-do Spirit.”

Lee was diagnosed with breast cancer in March and announced her plans to undergo surgery for a double mastectomy on Good Morning America in May.
