Disney Parks outlines ‘Star Wars’ events, rides to close in Disneyland

Disney Parks released some more details about Star Wars attractions at Disneyland in Anaheim and Walt Disney World in Orlando. Essentially, this winter, both parks might as well rename themselves Star Wars World.

The company announced “Season of the Force,” which will start on Nov. 16 in Disneyland. It’s a series of events and experiences that will keep visitors excited for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which opens on Dec. 18. A launch date for Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Orlando will be announced soon.

First up is Star Wars Launch Bay, which will give fans a chance to hang out with Darth Vader or Chewbacca. There will be a Dark Side Gallery, with weapons and armor used by Vader and Stormtroopers; a Light Side Gallery, with artifacts from the Rebel Alliance; a Preview Gallery with props from TFA; and a Starship Gallery to show off the famous ships from the movies.

Starting in December, there will be Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple, a new twist on the Jedi Training experience that promotes Star Wars: Rebels.

Star Tours will feature a new scene inspired by TFA.

Lastly, Space Mountain will be decked out in Star Wars gear and retitled Hyperspace Mountain.

According to ABC7, the Disneyland Railroad and Rivers of America attractions will be closed temporarily during the Season of the Force.

Of course, this is just the start of the Star Wars takeover at Disneyland and Disney World. In August, Disney announced a 14-acre Star Wars Land at both Disney World and Disneyland.
