Pope Francis releasing rock album ‘Wake Up!’

Pope Francis is about to become a rock star. The first pope from this hemisphere will be releasing an album of his speeches, accompanied by pop-rock musicians in November.

The album is titled Wake Up! and was approved by the Vatican. It comes out on Nov. 27 and is already up on iTunes to pre-order. Rolling Stone also posted the first single, “Wake Up! Go! Go! Forward,” which includes excerpts from the Pope’s English speech in South Korea last year.

Other tracks feature the Pope’s speeches in Italian, Spanish and Portuguese. The album includes over 11 tracks, all produced by Don Giulio Neroni. Several of the backing tracks were written by Tony Pagliuca.

The release of the first single come while Pope Francis visits the U.S. for the first time. He ends his trip this weekend in Philadelphia for the World Meeting of Families. On Friday, he visited the National Sept. 11 Museum in New York City and on Thursday, he became the first Pope to address a joint session of the U.S. Congress.

The Associated Press reports that proceeds will go to a foundation for refugees.
