9 reportedly killed, several more injured in shooting at Oregon college

It has been reported that nine people were killed by a shooter at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, Oregon on Thursday.

The Oregonian noted that police responded to reports of an active shooter just before 10:40 a.m. local time. Several agents with the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosive unit also were dispatched to the scene.

"We're rolling to help," said Colene Domenech, a resident agent in charge of the Portland office. The agents will do "whatever they ask us to do."

The Douglas County Fire Department and ambulances were on the scene as well.

It was reported by KATU that in addition to the deceased, several other people were injured. Law enforcement officials would not confirm the numbers of the injured. However, the total number of fatalities given is 10. That number includes the gunman who was shot and killed by police.

Umpqua is a two-year school, which was founded in 1964 and currently has over 3,000 students enrolled.
