Robin Thicke ‘Blurred Lines’ deposition video confirms he was drunk or high in interviews

Fans of Robin Thicke should dig into the vault and re-watch all of his interviews.

According to KABC, a Los Angles judge unsealed a deposition video from Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams' "Blurred Lines” trial, and it revealed more about Thicke’s past interviews than his hit song. Thicke said he was using drugs and alcohol during all of his 2013 interviews.

"With all due respect, I was high and drunk every time I did an interview last year," Thicke said after he was asked about comparing his song, “Blurred Lines,” to Marvin Gaye’s “Got To Give It Up” in the media.

Thicke and Williams were accused of ripping off Gaye’s song and ordered to pay Gaye’s family around $7.4 million after they lost their case.

When asked about specific appearances and interviews, Thicke repeated that he did not do an interview unless he was under the influence.

Thicke adds that he only mentioned Gaye because other people were comparing the two songs.

"I tell whatever I want to say to help sell records," Thicke said. Williams and Thicke’s attorney, Howard E. King, released a statement about the deposition video and plans to appeal the case.

“This is old news. The songs are still different and we look forward to complete vindication on appeal,” the statement read.

This interview was recorded on April 23, 2014.
