In a new interview actress Victoria Justice revealed that she was diagnosed with a thyroid disorder a few years back.
While shooting Health magazine’s November cover, the 22-year-old opened up about the diagnosis.
"A few years ago, I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's, which is a thyroid autoimmune disorder," Justice said.
She called hearing the news “devastating” and said that an acupuncturist had her on a no sugar, wheat or dairy diet for a couple of months. She was also on medication that had side effects of acne and weight gain.
Justice added that although she still has Hashimoto’s, her numbers are “back to normal” and she no longer takes the medication.
The singer also dished on some of the workout details she goes through with a trainer and admitted that she takes twerking classes.
Justice began making television appearances when she was just 10 years old and starred in Nickelodeon’s Zoey 101 and Victorious. The Daily Mail noted that most recently she lent her voice to the animated film Get Squirrely, which is set to be released later this year.
