Bob Newhart to make another appearance on ‘The Big Bang Theory’

Television legend Bob Newhart is making a return to The Big Bang Theory, even if the character he plays has died.

Newhart has been making appearances on The Big Bang Theory since season six as TV show host Arthur Jeffries. During season seven, the character died. However, Entertainment Weekly reports that Arthur will appear to Sheldon (Jim Parsons) in a dream as a Jedi spirit, as he has in past episodes.

The episode will air on Dec. 17, just hours before Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens.

Although Newhart has been a television icon for decades, The Big Bang Theory helped him land his first ever Primetime Emmy in 2013. He’s best remembered for his two beloved sitcoms, The Bob Newhart Show and Newhart.

The Big Bang Theory airs on Thursdays on CBS at 8 p.m. You can check out our recap of the most recent episode, “The Spock Resonance,” right here.
