Dixie Chicks to headline first tour to hit the U.S. in 10 years

The Dixie Chicks have announced their first headlining U.S. tour in ten years on Monday – the DCX MMXVI World Tour.

Their last tour to hit the U.S. as headliners was 2006’s Accusations & Accidents World Tour, which came after their controversial stance against President Bush and the Iraq war. The group consists of Natalie Maines, Martie Maguire and Emily Robison.

On their Facebook page, the Dixie Chicks announced the tour with a video. Maines says, “Just when you thought you were safe, America, we’re back.”

The Dixie Chicks have continued to tour since 2006, opening up for The Eagles in 2010. They also toured Canada in 2013. However, the DCX tour is their first headlining tour of America in a decade, Entertainment Weekly reports.

The tour will begin next summer and conclude in October 2016.
