ISIS releases video suggesting a potential attack on NYC

A new video released by ISIS making reference to New York City is circling the internet and the NYPD said Wednesday it is aware of the situation but that there is no threat to the city.

Mayor Bill de Blasio and police Commissioner Bill Bratton told reporters the city of New York will not be intimidated, with de Blasio adding in a statement.

"People in New York City, as you can see right now, are going about their business – even at this late hour. I want to encourage all New Yorkers to go about their business normally. It’s important to note that there is no credible and specific threat against New York City," he said, CBS New York reported.

The propaganda video, according to the NY Post, shows Manhattan streetscapes that include Times Square and Herald Square along with images of the city inserted between clips of suicide bombers preparing for attacks. Additionally, a fighter holding a grenade is shown pulling the trigger and multiple shots of suicide bombers gearing up.

Bratton said in a statement "Be aware, but do not be afraid. The NYPD will protect you. The NYPD, working in close, close cooperation with the FBI and our other government parties, and with the great, great assistance of the residents of this great city, that we will keep it safe. We cannot be intimidated, and that's what terrorists seek to do. They seek to create fear. They seek to intimidate. We will not be intimidated, and we will not live in fear."

The video comes less than a week after a deadly terrorist attack in Paris left over 120 dead and more than 200 injured.
