J.J. Abrams is terrified to release 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens'

We're just a few weeks away from finding out if Star Wars: The Force Awakens is any good and director J.J. Abrams is as nervous as anyone.

During a conversation with Stephen Colbert at the Montclair Film Festival over the weekend, Abrams revealed that The Force Awakens is just about finished and he is "thrilled beyond words and terrified more than I can say."

Abrams noted that the final cut of the movie was actually completed at 2:30 that morning and he had pulled an all-nighter working on it. However, he did say that there are still six "very small, but important" things left before it's 100 percent done.

When asked if he was excited to finally be finished, Abrams compared the experience to living with the greatest roommate in history for far too long.

"It’s time for him to get his own place," Abrams joked. "It's been the greatest, and I can't tell you how much I want him to get out into the world and meet other people because we know each other really well."

Star Wars: The Force Awakens has already made $50 million from pre-sale tickets alone, as we previously reported. The film hits theaters on Dec. 18.
