Justin Bieber abruptly cancels on 'The Late Show' and Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

Justin Bieber has just cancelled appearances on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade with less than 24 hours notice.

Bieber tweeted to the official Late Show Twitter account at 2:21 a.m., explaining that he wouldn't be coming to today's taping. No reason was given for the sudden schedule change, but he then tweeted to Stephen Colbert directly.

"@StephenAtHome thank you for the understanding as sometimes life kicks our a-- and we need to deal with it," he wrote. "I will see u soon. Thank you."

The Purpose singer will also no longer be making an appearance at Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Bieber was expected to shoot a performance tonight in New York City after the Late Show appearance, but this has also been cancelled due to personal reasons, according to Entertainment Tonight.

Presumably, the folks over at The Late Show are currently scrambling to fill the time that would have been occupied by Bieber. The Thanksgiving Day Parade will feature  Mariah Carey, Jordin Sparks, Betty Cantrell, the cast of Sesame Street, along with the cast of Fiddler on the Roof, The King & I, and On Your Feet.
