Mandy Moore to star in NBC pilot with Milo Ventimiglia

Mandy Moore is plotting a return to television. She’s been cast in a new NBC pilot that will co-star Milo Ventimiglia.

The hour-long dramedy is currently untitled, according to The Hollywood Reporter, and will co-star Justin Hartley, Sterling Brown and Ron Cephas Jones. It will be written by Dan Fogelman (Galavant) and will be directed by John Rqua and Glenn Ficarra.

The pilot focuses on Jack (Ventimiglia) and his wife, Rebecca (Moore). The two are about to become parents to triplets and live in Pittsburgh. Meanwhile, Kevin (Hartley) is a TV actor happy with being a bachelor. Randall (Brown) is a businessman in New York who is raising two daughters. William (Jones) is Randall’s father, who left him after he was born.

Ventimiglia recently starred on Gotham, Mob City and The Whispers.

Moore was recently on TV in Grey’s Anatomy and Fox’s short-lived Red Band Society. She also appeared in the pilots Good Session and The Advocates, but neither of those made it to air. She will reprise her role as Rapunzel in Disney’s Tangled animated series.
