‘My Little Pony’ movie with Kristin Chenoweth coming in 2017

Lionsgate and Hasbro have scheduled their My Little Pony animated film for November 2017.

The film will be the first production from Hasbro’s recently established Allspark Pictures, reports Variety. Tony winner Kristin Chenoweth will provide the voice for a new character. She will be joined by Tara Strong, Cathy Weseluck, Andrea Libman, Tabitha St. Germain and Ashleigh Ball, who voice the Mane 6 characters from My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic.

Other members from the Friendship is Magic series team are contributing to the film. Executive producer Meghan McCarthy wrote the script and Jayson Thiessen is directing. Both are Friendship vets, notes Entertainment Weekly.

My Little Pony will hit theaters on Nov. 3, 2017, the same day that Thor: Ragnarok opens. Meanwhile, Friendship is Magic airs on Discovery Family Saturdays at 11:30 a.m.
