Ridley Scott gives 'Prometheus 2' a new title (again)

Ridley Scott's upcoming Prometheus movie now has a new title ... again.

A few weeks ago, it was revealed that the Prometheus sequel would be dropping Prometheus from the title altogether, instead being referred to as Alien: Paradise Lost. Well, that didn't last long.

In a recent interview, Scott revealed that the new title of the movie is Alien: Covenant. Actually, he didn't even really announce that the film had been renamed; he just kind of started calling it Alien: Covenant with no explanation. Maybe he plans to retitle the movie in every single interview from now on.

Alien: Covenant will begin shooting this February and both Noomi Rapace and Michael Fassbender are back on board.

We don't know much about the plot, but Scott did recently reveal that the sequels would actually explain who created the Xenomorphs.

This is not to be confused with the proper Alien sequel that's on the way from Neil Blompkamp, which was recently put on hold in order to make way for Alien: Covenant. Blompkamp has already moved on to another project, so it's unclear if that film will ever actually happen anymore.

Alien: Covenant is expected in theaters in summer 2017.
