Ryan Gosling confirms 'Blade Runner 2' is his next movie

It was reported back in April that Ryan Gosling was in talks for Blade Runner 2, and the actor has now officially confirmed it.

In an interview with Collider, Gosling said he's in Blade Runner 2, and it's the film he will be shooting next. The sequel to the classic 1982 Ridley Scott movie is expected to go into production in 2016.

Gosling said virtually nothing else about the project, joking, "There’s a chip in me and if I say anything more I’ll explode if I say anything else."

The upcoming sequel will also see the return of Harrison Ford as Rick Deckard, and it will be set in the year 2047, 28 years after the events of the original. Ridley Scott will merely serve as producer, though, as Blade Runner 2 is directed by Denis Villeneuve (Prisoners) and written by Michael Green and Hampton Fancher.

Ford is apparently very enthusiastic about the movie, though, calling it the best script he has ever read.

Ridley Scott has suggested that more Blade Runner movies might be made after this one and that Gosling would take over for Ford.
