Sarah Palin breaks silence on daughter Bristol's second pregnancy

Sarah Palin is breaking her silence on her daughter Bristol Palin’s second pregnancy, saying she’s excited to meet her new granddaughter although the pregnancy is somewhat controversial.

At the time Bristol announced her pregnancy, she admitted it was a “huge disappointment,” as it’s her second unwed pregnancy, and she previously held a position as an Abstinence Ambassador. Her wedding to ex-fiance, Dakota Meyer, was called off right before the pregnancy announcement.

Nonetheless, the former Alaskan governor says she is happy about welcoming a granddaughter and praised Palin for her efforts as a single mom.

She told CBS News she wasn’t prepared for another pregnancy, but she considers it a blessing anyway.

“Heck, no," she replied when asked if she imagined her daughter’s life playing out like this. "Because being a single mom is, oh my goodness, my heart goes out to the single parents. But my enormous admiration for what it is that they're able to accomplish doing double-duty. And I watch Bristol do double-duty all the time, you know, with her little boy, Tripp.”

When it was pointed out the pregnancy “goes against everything” the family stands for, Palin said their “faith in God” overrides that.

“He certainly is a God of second chances, and third, and fourth, and fifth chances,” Palin said. “I screw up all the time."
