'Black Mirror' casts Mackenzie Davis, Gugu Mbatha-Raw for first Netflix episode

After picking up the British science fiction series for additional episodes, Netflix has just announced the cast for the next Black Mirror installment.

According to The Wrap, Mackenzie Davis and Gugu Mbatha-Raw will star in the next Black Mirror episode, which is currently in production. This new episode will be directed by Owen Harris, who previously directed season 2's "Be Right Back" about a new technology that allows customers to talk to deceased loved ones.

Black Mirror has been compared to a modern day Twilight Zone, in that it's a dark science fiction show in which each episode is a complete story. It originally aired on Channel 4 in the U.K., but it became a huge hit overseas when it was made available for streaming on Netflix. So far, seven episodes have been produced including a Christmas special, although only six are streaming on Netflix at the moment.

Netflix picked up Black Mirror back in September, and they will be producing 12 all new episodes. Executive producers Charlie Brooker and Annabel Jones are still on board, so it sounds like very little will change in the transition from Channel 4.
