Emily Blunt is really a girl on the train in first ‘Girl on the Train’ photos

The first photos from the production of The Girl on the Train came out and feature - what else? - star Emily Blunt on a train.

The DreamWorks film is based on the best-selling novel by Paula Hawkins. Blunt stars as Rachel, an emotionally damaged woman who watches a couple (Luke Evans and Hayley Bennett) from her train window every day. She also sees the home her ex-husband (Justin Theroux) lives in with his new wife (Rebecca Ferguson).

During her train ride, she sees the couple involved in a betrayal and the young woman goes missing. Rachel pushes her way into the investigation.

It is being directed by Tate Taylor (The Help) and will be released by Universal on Oct. 7.

Taylor revealed to Entertainment Weekly that the film will be set in Manhattan instead of London, although Blunt is still playing a British character. It will help the character feel more isolated.

“It adds another layer of loneliness,” Taylor said. “She’s trying to reclaim or redefine herself, and yet she’s not in her native land.”

EW shared two photos from the film, one showing Blunt looking out a train window. In the other, she is seen among the New York commuters, getting off her train.
