Interview Magazine defends photoshoot with Kylie Jenner after she gets backlash for posing in a wheelchair

Kylie Jenner is receiving backlash for posing in a wheelchair as part of her risqué Interview Magazine photoshoot.

As we previously reported, Jenner, 18, exposed her bare backside in a pair of leather chaps and opened up about where she sees herself at the age of 30. However, she’s now under fire for posing in a wheelchair, with Twitter users lashing out at the able-bodied star disguising it as “art” when there are actually people with disabilities who use one every day.

Among the comments, one Twitter user wrote, “I dare @KylieJenner to spend a day in my wheelchair then try to tell me it's ‘fashion.’ Shame on @InterviewMag.”

In response, the magazine defended the photoshoot in a statement to E! News.

"At Interview, we are proud of our tradition of working with great artists and empowering them to realize their distinct and often bold visions,” the publication said. “The Kylie Jenner cover by Steven Klein, which references the British artist Allen Jones, is a part of this tradition, placing Kylie in a variety of positions of power and control and exploring her image as an object of vast media scrutiny."
