Charlie Puth, Selena Gomez release duet 'We Don't Talk Anymore'

Last month, Charlie Puth shared the first tiny little preview of his new duet "We Don't Talk Anymore," featuring Selena Gomez on his Instagram page. Now, we finally have the full single.

The track has to be the happiest sounding breakup song ever recorded. The lyrics reminisce on a relationship the two once had that leads them to questioning where it all went downhill. Although breakups are also a heavy, depressing topic, the lyrics take place amongst an almost island-like, tropical beat, making it the ultimate party breakup jam...if that can even be such a thing.

the realest and most down to earth person I know. good to know you @selenagomez your album is going to be incredible!

“I met up with Selena, and she went through a very public relationship, on and off, and she could just relate to the song and the lyrical sentiment,” Puth told MTV News. “I was playing the song for her, and she just started singing the second verse. I got chills. I was like, ’Oh my gosh, that sounds so real. You need to sing on it.’ And she said yes.”

He originally showed her the song, thinking that she would appreciate the upbeat tempo and also the message due to her at the time breakup with Justin Bieber. Immediately upon hearing it, Selena started an impromptu dance party and wanted to be a part of the recording.

Puth has proved to be no stranger to a good duet. His claim to fame was the Golden Globe-nominated track "See You Again" with Wiz Khalifa from Furious 7. Then, he recorded "Marvin Gaye" with Meghan Trainor, and now "We Don't Talk Anymore" with Selena.
