Jury selection begins in Erin Andrews’ nude-videos suit against Marriott

Jury selection began Monday for Fox Sports reporter Erin Andrews’ negligence lawsuit against a Marriott hotel in Nashville, Tennessee.

The Associated Press noted that the case is for a civil lawsuit Andrews filed against the franchise owner and the manager of a hotel in which she is seeking $75 million.

As we previously reported, the suit stems from a 2008 incident in which Michael David Barrett rigged a peephole and secretly videotaped Andrews while she was nude in a neighboring hotel room. Barrett then posted the videos online.

Andrews has alleged that the franchise owner and manager were negligent in telling Barrett that she was staying at the hotel and what room she was in. She claims that such negligence caused infliction of emotional distress and invasion of privacy.

In 2009, he plead guilty to stalking and shooting the videos and was given a sentence of 30 months behind bars.

The current trial is not expected to exceed two weeks.
