'Shameless' season 6 episode 4 recap 'Going Once, Going Twice'

It was a sad, sad week to be a Gallagher on the newest episode of Shameless. The family had 72 hours to vacate their home after finding an eviction notice on their door. The house was in foreclosure because cousin Patrick, who owns the house took out a loan on it that he couldn't repay.

The house is put up for auction giving the Gallaghers only a few days to put money together so they can bid on their house. Luckily, Fiona has a credit score of zero and can receive a loan for up to $100,000 as long as she can make a down payment of $3,500. The only Gallagher with that kind of money laying around is Carl, who Frank calls "the one Gallagher to live up to his genetic potential" and whose money Fiona refuses to take since it was made from selling drugs and guns.

Ian and Lip offer some money, Fiona pawns her wedding ring from Gus for $1,900 and Sean comes up with the remaining cash. To make matters even worse child services comes and drops Chuckie (Remember him? He's the little short chubby kid. Carl strapped drugs to him and then they went to juvie.) off because his mom is incarcerated and he has the house listed as where he lives, and Fiona is now his legal guardian until another relative he can stay with is found. Carl threatened to kill him though...always living up to his full potential.

Things are heading downward for Kev and V as well, because all of The Alibi's regulars have stopped coming in because of the bars new hipster reputation. Even Svetlana got a job a the new speakeasy in town, The Public Restroom, and she introduces V to the owner to get tips to making The Alibi successful again. Her advice was to be in on a secret and try to make the venues as hard to find as possible, and continues to tell her there's no coming back from the "Chicago's Best Shittiest Bar" sign that's hanging outside The Alibi.

Yonnis starts a lawyer bonfire, setting the yuppie lawyer's home on fire to kill him, his wife and children for paralyzing him. Kev finally comes clean. Kev explains how he meant to cut his throttle to keep the peace in the neighborhood but accidentally cut the breaks. He thinks by asking for forgiveness they will have a stronger friendship...and he couldn't have been more wrong because Yonnis starts throwing the flaming bottles at him. Having one too many bottles lit at once resulted in Yonnis accidentally setting himself on fire, and Kev watching him burn.

Carl became a little more human this week after Dominique refuses the pink mink coat he bought her. In an attempt to win her over, Carl thinks he needs to pick her up in a nice car. There's just one problem - he isn't old enough to drive. However Nick is and Carl wants him to take the test to get his license, to which he refuses and just wants a bike. Clearly puzzled, Carl asks why. It turns out when Nick was nine all the other kids had bikes and his dad used to abuse him and wouldn't get him one. After a year Nick raised enough money to buy himself one and his junkie dad traded it for drugs. His story clicked in little Carl's head, and he buys not only Nick but Dominique a bike.

Frank decides to find Debbie a sugar daddy to help support her child with money and home for her, the baby, and of course himself. After bringing home Eugene, an extremely sick elderly man on an oxygen compressor didn't really work for Debbie he decided to continue as a cancer concierge and sets her up to babysit a dying women and her husband's three kids as their nanny. After Debbie sees that the husband is young, attractive, and has a nice house she is on board.

Ian baked cookies to the firefighter who saved his life and is a little disappointed when he finds out Jason is actually married with two kids.

Things may finally be over for Lip and his lady teacher friend after he went away with her for the weekend to watch her give a speech on her upcoming book about the loss of faith and the second sex, where a young man called her out in front of the entire audience on how her theory is incorrect. She ends up getting highly intoxicated, trying to fuck Lip on an elevator, and continues to tell him how embarrassed she was in front of all of her peers while puking over the toilet.

Things didn't get really weird until she told him what a cliche she was telling Lip that one day he is going to be with a girl his own age, and tell her about how he was with this older woman. She continued to say how this all just started as a fling but now it's much different and much more then that...until the next morning when she blames her ramble on the alcohol and tells him to put her nonsense and this entire weekend behind them.

However the biggest shocker of the night was Sean after reacting like he didn't want to live with, came forward and told her the secret he has been hiding all along. At age 20, Sean killed a guy while he was drunk and high, he knocked the man down and continued to beat him until his death.

Then, to top the episode off, the Gallaghers lost their house.
