Katt Williams arrested for allegedly punching a pool supply store employee in Georgia

Katt Williams was arrested on Monday, Feb. 29 while in Georgia for allegedly punching a store employee at a pool supply store after getting into a verbal argument.

Sgt. Kevin Holbrook of the Gainesville Police Department confirmed the arrest, saying he responded to a call to the store around 11:30 a.m.

Holbrook told The AP the comedian was "lying on the ground with his hands behind his back as though he was ready to go to jail.”

Williams allegedly threw a pair of goggles at the employee, then went behind the counter to punch him. It's not known what started the fight, and Williams wouldn't specify when asked by police officers.

The comedian, who has a few arrests on his record, was charged with a misdemeanor battery charge for the incident, Hall County Sheriff's Deputy Nicole Bailes said in an email. He was held on a $5,000 bond.
