Jon Stewart comes to the aid of runaway bull in New York

If you thought Jon Stewart couldn’t be even more awesome than he already is, then you are mistaken. After a bull got loose in Queens, Stewart stepped in to help.

According to The Huffington Post, a bull named Frank was on its way to the slaughterhouse when he decided he was not going to be joining the rest of the herd. He escaped and ended up on the grounds of York College before the NYPD was able to come and tranquilize him to be brought to Brooklyn’s Animal Care Center.

Stewart and his wife, Tracey, found out about the bull from Farm Sanctuary, an animal rescue organization.

The couple arrived to take Frank to their New Jersey farm, Bufflehead, to take care of him before he would be moved to a shelter for Farm Sanctuary in Watkins Glen, N.Y. He will reportedly become castrated before moving to his new facility.

Footage on the organization’s Facebook page showed Stewart giving the bull some hay.

Feeding FrankBreaking News: We are happy to report that the bull who was on the run earlier today in Queens is safe and on his way to Farm Sanctuary in Watkins Glen, NY. Jon and Tracey Stewart picked up the individual whom we are calling Frank this afternoon from Animal Care Centers of NYC (ACC). Special thanks to our colleague Mike Stura of Skylands Animal Sanctuary And Rescue who drove out to assist with the transport. More info to come.

CNN reported the bull’s name came from Frank Lee, an escapee from Alcatraz prison in California.
