‘Lucifer’ season finale recap episode 113: ‘Take Me Back to Hell’

Last week on Lucifer, we were all surprised when he was framed for murder. This week Chloe helps him clear his name by proving the identity of the real killer.

Chloe and some fellow policemen hold Lucifer at gunpoint. Does she really believe he killed the preacher? Lucifer is upset that she could think that of him. He taunts a newbie cop into shooting at him. We jump as the gun goes off, but Lucifer disappears.

We’re relieved that Amenadiel saved Lucifer. They stop on a rooftop. Lucifer is livid. He’s done on Earth.

Malcolm comes to Lux looking for Lucifer. One of the other officers pricks himself on a demon blade. Malcolm says he’ll take it to the station. What’s he up to?

Chloe tells Dan that Lucifer is innocent. She apparently still has faith in him. She claims Lucifer is too passionate for an execution-style killing. Who framed him?

A cop tells Chloe they found the murder weapon. Dan says Lucifer’s prints will be on the gun, but he’s innocent.

Amenadiel refuses to take Lucifer back to hell. He wants to make things right by finding Malcolm and punishing him. Can Amenadiel and Lucifer work together without killing each other?

Linda walks in on our angels talking and accuses Amenadiel of stealing her patients. Lucifer says they need her.

We’re shocked when Chloe slaps Dan. He finally told her the truth about Malcolm. He apologizes. She tells him to make it right by finding the killer.

Lucifer and Amenadiel bicker like an old married couple on Linda’s couch. She’s upset she was lied to. They ignore her and realize Malcolm will need to start a new life. They rudely leave mid-session.

Chloe asks Maze about Lucifer’s whereabouts. Maze says Chloe knows him better and asks where she thinks he would go. He’ll punish Malcolm. Then he’d really go down for murder. Maze tags along to find him.

Lucifer barges into a funeral to talk to the director. The man creates new identities. Malcolm came to him, but needed time to come up with the money. He mentioned an old associate, Tommy.

Maze breaks down Malcolm’s door. Suddenly, the room is exploding in a hail of bullets. Will Chloe and Maze make it out alive?

Chloe takes a defensive position and calls out for Malcolm to put his weapon down, but we’re surprised to find it’s his wife. She thought Chloe was Malcolm. He was just there, frantically looking for money and she was afraid of him. He said he was going for a beer.

Dan finds Lucifer and his brother in his office. Lucifer uses his desire trick to ask him about Tommy. Tommy’s a drug dealer that works out of a local brewery. Dan turns and threatens to put the angels in a holding cell, but they’ve disappeared. They’re good at that! Dan calls Chloe.

Malcolm offers a supply to Tommy in exchange for cash. He has a gun hidden in his pants. What's he plan on doing? They hear a noise and Tommy sends his bodyguards to check it out. Malcolm holds Tommy at gunpoint and asks for cash.

The bodyguards come across Lucifer and Amenadiel. One shoots Lucifer, but we know it can’t hurt him unless the detective is around. Unfortunately, we know she’s on her way. Lucifer and Amenadiel take the guards on barehanded. It’s definitely not a fair fight and our men come out on top. They split up to find Malcolm.

We’re horrified when Malcolm stabs Amenadiel in the gut with a demon blade. He twists the knife to make it painful. Malcolm takes off and it gets emotional when Lucifer hangs back to help his brother.

Maze shows up and says she’ll handle Amenadiel. Go find Malcolm, Lucifer!

Chloe finds Malcolm first and shoots at him. He escapes, but drops his bag of money. Lucifer appears and she tells him she believes in him. Our hero is touched.

Dan shows up with the police. Lucifer surrenders, but Dan says they found evidence that he’s innocent. We’re in suspense when he says he has to show them.

Amenadiel tells Maze that only something divine can cure him. She uses the feather she saved from Lucifer’s wings – the one she was going to use to go home. We watch in awe as the wound stitches together.

Dan turns himself in at the precinct for giving the gun to Malcolm. He’s willing to put himself in jeopardy to save Lucifer? Our fiery hero finds a new respect for him.

Chloe gets a call from Trixie, but it’s actually Malcolm. He’s taken Trixie hostage. He’s diabolical. She’s to bring his money alone, or Trixie dies. No Lucifer, no cops.

Chloe says she needs to examine the duffel she brought in as evidence. She tries to sneak away, but Lucifer finds it hilarious to use a broadcaster to threaten to shoot her if she doesn’t stop. It is kind of funny.

Chloe says Lucifer can’t go save Trixie. Her daughter’s safety is all that matters. She leaves.

Malcolm makes Chloe toss her gun. What’s he going to do? We know what he’s capable of. She refuses to give him his money until she has Trixie. He lets her loose and Chloe tells her to hide. Just as Malcolm is about to shoot Chloe, a paper airplane sails past. He’s distracted and Chloe gets away.

Lucifer calls out to Malcolm and asks for the gun. He asks what Malcolm desires. Malcolm shoots him in the stomach and we’re afraid because Lucifer actually bleeds. He lies quivering on the floor while Malcolm looks for Chloe.

Wow! Lucifer begins to pray. He promises to do as God asks in exchange for Chloe’s life.

Lucifer passes over. We think it’s snowing, but it’s ash. He finds the gates open, then wakes back on Earth. He’s healed.

As Malcolm gets Chloe in his cross-hairs, Lucifer surprise punches him. Malcolm tries to recover, but Chloe shoots him several times in the chest. Malcolm says he still has the coin, but his pocket comes up empty. Lucifer tosses it in the air and the coin dissolves into sparks. Malcolm dies and Lucifer sends Chloe and Trixie home.

Lucifer finds Amenadiel waking in his apartment. He tells him God wants him to catch an inmate from hell. Is Lucifer afraid? We’re shocked when Lucifer tells Amenadiel the inmate is “Mom.”
