Jay Z responds to ‘Lemonade’ in rap lyric

After a month of wondering exactly what Jay Z thought about his wife’s raw visual album Lemonade, the rapper referenced it via a new track.

US Weekly noted that while Jay didn’t answer our burning question about who “Becky with the good hair” really is, he did mention lemonade and elevators in Fat Joe’s new song called “All the Way Up.”

"You know you made it when the fact your marriage made it is worth millions,” the 46-year-old raps. “Lemonade is a popular drink and it still is / Survival of the littlest.”

The lemonade line is actually from a Guru lyric in Gang Starr’s song “DWYCK.”

Bey’s husband also pays tribute to another artist when he brings up an elevator.

“Prince left his masters where they safe and sound/We never gonna let the elevator take him down,” Jay rapped.
