Ed Sheeran being sued for allegedly copying song released by reality competition winner (Audio)

Singing sensation Ed Sheeran is being sued for a hefty $20 million for allegedlly copying the song “Photograph” after it was released by the winner of a reality competition series.

Billboard reported that the writers of the 2009 song “Amazing” have written hits for other artists in the past including Kylie Minogue and they claim in the lawsuit that Sheeran’s “Photograph” is from their work.

Martin Harrington and Thomas Leonard wrote the single for 2010 The X Factor winner Matt Cardle and claim that Sheeran’s song is "verbatim, note-for-note copying."

The attorney representing Harrington and Leonard is the same who represented Marvin Gaye’s family in the “Blurred Lines” copyright case.

Sheeran has not yet commented on the suit, but you can hear the audio comparison below and decide for yourself if he ripped off their song.
