Leonardo DiCaprio to testify in 'Wolf on Wall Street' lawsuit

Leonardo DiCaprio has been ordered by a judge to give a deposition in a lawsuit regarding a character in his film Wolf on Wall Street.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Judge Steven Locke granted a motion to allow the actor to give a deposition. Andrew Greene brought a suit against producers over a character that appeared to be based on himself. The character in question is Nicky “Rugrat” Koskoff, who is portrayed by P.J. Byrne.

The plaintiff argued the film spread lies about him and led to his reputiation being damaged. While his claims were ultimately rejected, a judge had him amend his claims, which include libel.

Defendents tried to prevent a deposition for DiCaprio, saying he did not write, or act, in the role of Koskoff. In the end, the judge agreed with the defendant to call for DiCaprio’s depositon.

His testimony will likely involve his production company, Appian Way, which is one of the defendants in the suit, TIME reported.
