‘I Am Wrath’ Blu-ray movie review

On July 26, Lionsgate Home Entertainment released their new action film, I Am Wrath, starring John Travolta and Christopher Meloni. While the movie employed some famous talent, it seemed more like a B-rated flick with a far-fetched plot and mediocre acting.

Travolta plays Stanley Hill, a former Black Ops agent whose wife is killed by gang members, pulling him back into the game. He teams up with his former partner to take justice into his own hands after corrupt police let the suspects walk. Little does he know how far the conspiracy goes.

I have been known to enjoy John Travolta and I like Christopher Meloni in most everything I’ve seen him in. However, the plot of this movie really fails. Travolta’s character is unconvincing and the motives behind the corrupt police officers seemed thin and ridiculous. The movie also played on several racial stereotypes with the gang members.  There was not a white face among them and the film seemed to use violence to carry the plot instead of substance.

Overall, I give this movie two stars. It’s not terrible enough for one, but it certainly doesn’t shine. If you don’t mind a cheesy action flick, it could make for a fun movie night. But if you prefer your movies to have a strong plot line, look elsewhere.
