Judge orders US swimmers Ryan Lochte and James Feigen to stay in Brazil

A Brazilian judge has ordered that Ryan Lochte and James Feigen remain in Rio after law enforcement officials say there are “inconsistencies” in their accounts of being robbed.

As we previously reported, Lochte, Feigen, Gunnar Bentz and Jack Conger said that they were robbed at gunpoint after leaving a party early Sunday morning.

However, USA Today noted that Judge Keyla Blank ruled Wednesday that neither Lochte or Feigen can leave the country and pointed to what she believes are "inaccuracies" in what the swimmers alleged happened.

In her filing Blank, who watched surveillance video of the U.S. teammates arriving at their village following the alleged crime, said the swimmers did not appear to be upset at all.

"They arrived with their psychological and physical integrity unshaken," she said.

Blank even claimed that they seemed to be laughing and joking and said that there were “inconsistencies” in their timeline of the events on Sunday. She then ruled that their passports be seized.

Keeping Lochte in Brazil is a lost cause though since he reportedly arrived back in the states on Tuesday evening. Feigen, however, was still in Rio as of Wednesday morning.

Brazilian authorities investigating the case said that at this time they have not found evidence to support the athletes' claims.
