'Zombieland' sequel official with original writers and Woody Harrelson

The sequel to Zombieland is in development with the original writers confirming their involvement and the return of Woody Harrelson.

Zombieland writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick were on the AMC show Geeking Out and dropped the news that they are writing the script now. They even have plans to talk to Woody Harrelson about it.

"That is breaking news that we're on Zombieland 2 right now," Reese and Wernick said, according to ComicBook.com. "We're sitting with Woody [Harrelson] tomorrow and are going to sort of walk him through some of the stuff we want to do. All the cast is pretty excited."

The original film came out in 2009 and starred Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, Abigail Breslin and Harrelson and went on to gross over $100 million at the box office. 30 Minutes or Less and Gangster Squad director Ruben Fleischer helmed the film.

While on the show, Reese and Wernick also talked about the Bill Murray cameo and the other actors that passed it up. That part of their conversation can be viewed below.

Reese and Wernick are also writing the sequel to Deadpool. The two wrote the original which stands as the highest-grossing R-rated movie of all time.
