'Jane The Virgin' recap- 'Chapter Forty-Six'

Jane The Virgin returned with Jane suffering from nightmares as a result of her husband’s shooting. She has been fearful of the day he will return to work as a cop.

In the present, Michael is ready to go home, but he still has to wait six weeks for strenuous activity, including sex. Jane works on figuring out how to be his nurse while also dealing with Mateo, who is acting out due to the changes in his routine.

Jane goes home with Xo to find out Alba has put up cherry wallpaper. As they discuss it, Alba finds a bill from the doctor’s office. Xo takes it since she is trying to keep a secret that she had an abortion.

Rafael comes over to see Jane as they still need to work on getting back into a routine with Mateo. He goes to text Petra to ask her to take a meeting for him.

Meanwhile, “Petra” is with “Anezka” and on the phone with their mother. She is unsure about continuing their job but Magda gets her to keep working on finding something on Rafael.

Jane calls Michael to let him know she is coming to bring him home, but is disturbed when she finds out he is working with his new boss. Later when she gets Michael, they get into a disagreement over him going back to work.

At home, they talk to each other about his work and how Michael would willingly quit for her. Jane also knows she has to face her fear, but she doesn’t voice this to Michael. She is still afraid to walk the halls of the Marbella where Michael was shot.

While Jane is busy taking care of both Michael and Mateo, Rogelio is at work and lamenting on terrible montages. He is also waiting on an opportunity to cross over into the US market.

Jane eventually tries going back to the hotel, but when she does, all she can see is Michael’s body after he was shot.

Xo is still worried about Alba knowing about the abortion. Michael and Jane try to help her figure out how to work it into the conversation before Jane leaves for Mateo’s class to meet Rafael.

Once at the preschool, Rafael surprises Jane by telling her he is not fond of the Catholic preschool and only agreed on it to make her happy when he was still in love with her. Jane is surprised to hear about this but agrees to try and find a new school with him they both like.

“Petra” is in Rafael’s office when Scott comes in. She tries to cover and ends up seducing him so he doesn’t wonder why she is in there. They have sex.

Rogelio is with Michael as he works on walking exercises. He tells Michael he is working on an American accent and needs help.

While sitting with Michael and Jane, Xo ends up telling her mom about the abortion. Alba leaves without a word.

“Petra” calls Magda since she is still having difficulty getting into Rafael’s computer to find dirt on him.

When Jane says goodbye to Michael to leave with Rafael, he accidentally calls her mom. On their way to another preschool, Jane and Rafael awkwardly talk about everything going on with Jane and Michael, even though it is still weird for her to discuss. He suggests they try to act like newlyweds again since she has mostly been just taking care of him and not having romantic moments with her husband.

Xo and Alba end up arguing about her choice to have the abortion. Alba doesn’t agree with her choices and things become tense.

At the preschool they are at, Jane is surprised when a preschool mother accuses Mateo of biting her son. Jane lashes out, thinking her son would not do that. But she is proven wrong when he bites her in the car.

Jane goes home and orders everyone to stop fighting around Mateo. Xo ends up leaving while Alba leaves with Mateo, telling Jane that Michael is waiting. When she goes to their room, she sees he has set up a romantic evening that looks like where they were supposed to have their honeymoon.

After researching why kids bite, Jane talks to Michael about how she is feeling. She wants him to be happy and if he wants to go back to work, then she will work on moving on. When she tells him she is afraid to walk the hall where he was shot, he offers to go with her.

Xo and Rogelio talk about the fight she had with Alba before moving on to Rogelio’s accent. He has been trying to branch out into the US market since he sees it as home now with her, Jane and Mateo. Xo points out he should lose the accent if he is trying to be authentic.

Jane and Rafael go to a hippie kind of preschool and end up arguing when he discovers that she had tried to contact the other preschool where Mateo bit the kid. The preschool teacher gets them to talk to each other in the Compassion Corner, where they talk through their differences.

Jane asks about kids biting and is told it is just a phase and to ignore the biter to take care of the victim. At home, Jane tells Alba about the preschool and that she should work things out with Xo. They are interrupted when Michael lets out a painful noise. Jane goes to check on him to find Mateo had bit him. After telling Michael she needs to comfort him as the victim, she apologizes for what happened before noticing Michael is crying. He just realized the full impact of his shooting after she called him a victim.

Michael talks to Jane after holding it in about what had happened to him. He asks if she could talk him out of going back to work, but she knows she can’t do that.

When Rafael visits “Petra,” who has his laptop, she manages to distract him with the news she is sleeping with Scott. Meanwhile, Xo visits Rogelio at work, who did not get the role he had been hoping for.

Back at home, Alba is ripping the wallpaper off and tells her daughter while she does not agree with her choices, she knows it was hers to make. Xo and Jane help her rip off the wallpaper.

“Petra” gets off a rough phone call with her mother when Scott comes in. They begin making out in front of “Anezka,” whose eyes open and close.

A week later, Michael and Jane get the okay to have sex and they rush off to go finally be together. Hopefully?
