'The Big Bang Theory' Recap: The Veracity Elasticity

On tonight’s Big Bang Theory: The Veracity Elasticity, Fun with Flags is back! They have a new location at Penny’s old apartment, their temporary living space, and a house band consisting of Howard and Raj. Leonard, Penny, and Bernadette watch from the other apartment on the computer. Bernadette reveals that Amy’s apartment was ready weeks ago, but she has been lying to Sheldon so she could keep living with him.

After filming, Sheldon suggests that they stop by Amy’s apartment to see how the work is coming. Amy tries to avoid it, telling Sheldon that he is afraid of stray nails and butt cracks and then tries changing the subject. Sheldon catches on that she hiding something, so Amy gets him to go off on a tangent about ancient Mesopotamia.

During their lunch break, Sheldon tells the guys that he fears that Amy isn’t being truthful. He tells them that he can’t eat or sleep. Seeing how upset he is, Leonard tells him the truth. Sheldon feels both flattered and hurt. He says that he has to confront her right away. Howard tells him this is a bad idea. He suggests waiting until he’s in trouble and then throwing it in her face. Leonard says this is horrible advice. Surprised, Howard asks Leonard if he would like to have something over Penny. Leonard hesitantly says no, not wanting to go against his objection, but Howard tells him anyway. Apparently, Penny has slowly been putting Leonard’s collectables into storage and he hasn’t noticed.

Leonard looks around his room starts to find things that are missing. Leonard and Sheldon decide to see how long both of them are willing to take their lies. Penny and Amy come back to the apartment and Sheldon asks Amy about the work. Again, she lies and Penny helps her out. She had gotten Amy to confess to her in the hallway beforehand. Sheldon gets confused and starts to communicate to Leonard in Klingon. Bothered, Amy starts to speak her secret language to Penny. Being frustrated, Amy ends up coming out with the truth and then Leonard confronts Penny.

Amy is surprised to find that Sheldon would consider still living with her. This makes Leonard think that he could use Sheldon’s room for his collectables to please Penny. Sheldon thinks this is a horrible idea because whether he is living in it or not it’s “his room.” Leonard also agrees that Penny should decorate the bedroom how she likes so she will feel comfortable.

Before bedtime, Sheldon asks Amy if they would stay in Penny’s apartment. Amy says they could if he wanted, or they could live in hers. Sheldon says he doesn’t like hers, but maybe they can get a whole new place somewhere else. He then starts to get anxious when he thinking there could be mold and he would also have to learn a new bus route. Amy tries to calm him down by humming the Star Trek theme song. Sheldon tells her to stop because it’s childish…and he would rather that she hum 2001: A Space Odyssey. Amy grants his request and Sheldon drifts to sleep. Shortly after, he is woken up by a bad dream where Leonard and Penny turned his bedroom into a sex dungeon.

The next day, Sheldon stands in the hallway between his old apartment and his new one unsure of which he should go to. Amy arrives confused, so Sheldon explains that he is contemplating Burdian’s donkey. This is an illustration of a donkey being paralyzed when being placed equal distance between hay. He is surprised that Amy knows the reference. She ends up luring him back to their new apartment by bringing up other versions of Burdian’s Donkey, sparking an interest.

At the end of the episode, Leonard regrets letting Penny decorate the bedroom. She reveals an over the top display of pink florals and hearts. This prompts Leonard to start hiding Penny’s stuff across the hall.
