Demi Lovato apologizes for Election Day tweet

Demi Lovato has apologized after she tweeted out what she thought would be a funny joke on Election Day referencing Donald Trump's lewd comments about women.

On Nov. 8, Lovato, who is a Hillary Clinton supporter, tweeted, "Sometimes you just have to agree to disagree and grab some p***y."

The "Confident" singer was referring to Trump's remarks made in the infamous Access Hollywood tape, but some didn't find it funny at all and expressed their displeasure over the tweet and Lovato ending up deleting it.

A few hours later the 24-year-old took to the social media site again and apologized for the tweet.

"I apologize for the joke I made earlier..seemed to offend some people," she wrote. "Just making light of the election."

As of Wednesday morning, Lovato and the rest of the world had learned that Trump won the election and after posting about Canada's immigration website crashing she tweeted, "God bless my little sister's generation." That tweet received almost 25,000 retweets and nearly 50,000 likes.
