'Westworld' star Evan Rachel Wood reveals she was raped twice

Actress Evan Rachel Wood has revealed that she was sexually assaulted two different times.

Wood's admission came in an email she wrote to Rolling Stone in which she was expanding on a comment she made during a recent interview with the mag.

The Westworld star gave more detail about the “physical, psychological [and] sexual” abuse she said she had suffered.

“I’ve been raped. By a significant other while we were together. And on a separate occasion, by the owner of a bar,” she wrote.

The 29-year-old went onto say, “I don’t believe we live in a time where people can stay silent any longer. Not given the state our world is in with its blatant bigotry and sexism.”

While Wood never mentioned President Elect Donald Trump by name in this interview, she did mention his explanation as to what was said in that infamous Access Hollywood tape.

"I was affected by things being written off as locker-room talk — I had a very, very visceral reaction to it."

Wood's character on Westworld is a woman who has been physically abused and presumably sexually abused by the opposite sex. On how she handles playing Dolores the actress said, "The thing about Westworld is we don't actually show any act of rape" on camera. However, she obviously understands why the show is so controversial and previously told People,  “You have an obligation as a storyteller to raise awareness and to show the horrors of that so that people aren’t desensitized to it. I don’t think there’s anything titillating about what we’re doing. It’s all horrific, as it should be.”
