6.  Debbie Reynolds' lifelong connection to Girl Scouts

Unfortunately, Debbie Reynolds was more than a decade away from being the "world's oldest Girl Scout," despite her stated wish to do so as written in her memoir Unsinkable and subsequently reported by Susan Wloszczyna in USA Today in April 2013. She was known for having taken time off to serve as a troop leader for her daughter Carrie, as well as her step daughter Tina Karl. She was a lifelong advocate of Girl Scouting and spent much time and money on working with the organization.
