Jimmy Kimmel reveals how much he is being paid to host Oscars

If you ever wondered how much stars get paid to host the mother of all award shows Jimmy Kimmel has just answered that question, at least how much he's getting for it.

Kimmel will be hosting the upcoming Academy Awards and revealed on KROQ’s “Kevin & Bean” morning show on Wednesday, Dec. 14, that he will be getting paid  $15,000 to host the ceremony.

“I’m not sure I was supposed to reveal this,” he said. “But nobody told me not to. I consider this their fault.”

While that number doesn't seem relatively high for the late night talk show host who's net worth is around $35 million, hosting the Oscars is still a great gig for any celeb. The 49-year-old even joked about getting the nod.

“They asked like 14 people and they all said no and then there was me,” Kimmel joked. “I absolutely was surprised.”

As we reported, Kimmel announced he would be hosting the award show earlier this month on the same day that he shared the news that he and his wife, Molly McNearney, are expecting their second child together.

“Congratulations to me. I’m hosting the Oscars and I had sex,” the 49-year-old said.

The 89th Academy Awards will air on Sunday, Feb. 26, 2017 on ABC.
