Carrie Underwood crashes Christian conference (Video)

Country superstar Carrie Underwood started out the year with a surprise performance at a student Christian conference on Monday, Jan. 2.

The American Idol winner joined Christian musician, David Crowder, for a performance at Passion 2017.

The event, which took place in Georgia, welcomed students partaking in their evangelical faith.

The 33-year-old performed "Something in the Water," a Billboard top Christian song as well the No. 1 song on Christian charts.

The convention took place over the course of three days and included performances from Christian artists, Chris Tomlin, Matt Redman and Hillsong United.

Underwood took to Twitter Monday night to thank the Passion Conference and Crowder for allowing her to be a part of it.

Recently, Underwood shared that her pup, Ace, had been undergoing hydrotherapy for his herniated disk issue.

"Right before Christmas, my little Ace suffered a herniated disk. ????" she revealed. "He was completely paralyzed in his back end for a couple of days and, with rest, soon got mobility back in his right side...his left side is slowly getting better but we have a long way to go..."

The dog owner could be heard encouraging Ace in the background.

Carrie describes in the caption that Ace is "taking his physical therapy like a champ! And, of course, this is too adorable not to post!"

The Oklahoma native was just recently nominated for two iHeartRadio Music Awards.
