THE TOP 5 WORST MOMENTS:
5. Cogsworth’s wife
One of the most wonderful moments in the film is the ending. After the spell has been broken and all of the household objects have been turned back into their human counterparts, the audience sees the town reunite with the castle servants. Mrs. Potts (Emma Thompson) has a Mr. Potts and it is fabulous to witness the couple reuniting after all these years.
What is not so fabulous is when Cogsworth (Ian Mckellen) sees his wife. After so many years apart one would think that the butler would be happy to see his tearfully enthusiastic significant other, but instead he cries out “Someone turn me back into a clock please!” The moment was clearly meant to be funny, however it felt unnecessary and distracted the audience from an otherwise heartwarming scene.
