Okay, this is a bit of a stretch, but President Obama’s great-great-grandfather was an Irish immigrant who came to America in 1850.  It surely counts, as his Irish ancestor is the one to thank for bringing the Obama family to the United States and making Barack eligible for the presidency.  So we can truly say, “thanks, Obama!”
