Will Aaron Paul play Jack Daniel in 'Blood and Whiskey' drama?

Aaron Paul's production company, Lucid Road Production, is bringing the drama Blood and Whiskey to WGN America.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Breaking Bad alum is attached to the television series, based on the biography Blood and Whiskey: The Life and Times of Jack Daniel.

Written by Peter Krass, the biography tells the tale of a young Jack Daniel, who went from teenage moonshiner to an outlaw building "the world’s biggest whiskey empire out of the ashes of the Civil War."

Andrew Colville, who has worked on Mad Men, will helm the script as well as executive produce the drama.

Krass's book is the first Jack Daniel biography that tells the journey of the moonshiner.

While there are rumors that Paul will take on the lead as the whiskey aficionado, there has yet to be confirmation from his camp.

However, the 37-year-old did express his enthusiasm over the development of the series on Instagram.

"I have always been amazed with the process of making whiskey," Paul shared. "Put it in a barrel and wait. Let the barrel (and time) do its work. The patience. The ticking clock. We all know the name Jack Daniel but we don't know his story. It's a crazy one to say the least. Very happy to be part of the team to tell it."
