Caitlyn Jenner talks running for presidential office

Ever since President Donald Trump took office, the media's been ablaze with celebrities considering running for the presidency and while some were serious, some were joking. Two, for example, being Alice Cooper and Oprah Winfrey. Now, a new unlikely figure is setting their sights on Capitol Hill: Caitlyn Jenner.

According to People, Jenner made the announcement that she is considering running for president to an audience at the 92nd Street Y community center in New York City on Tuesday, April 26. In becoming the President of the United States, she's hoping she would be in a much more advantageous situation to better promote the LGBTQ community to which she belongs.

The idea started taking root in her mind after years of being approached at speaking events by supporters saying that she should consider running.

"I've got way too many skeletons in my closet," Jenner said and then added, "Or would I be better working from the inside? If that is the case...I would seriously look at a run. It just depends where I could be more effective."

In the mean time, Jenner, who is Republican and voted for Trump in the last presidential election, said she won't be granting any "free passes" to him or any other Republican if they screw up in supporting the community.

"My loyalties are not with Donald Trump," Jenner said. "I will come after him and come after Republicans if they come after my community. I've got a voice and they better listen, OK? I will come after them."
